Vehicles in German City Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Police mentioned they were notified by a individual who found a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Around 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.

Police say they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police say early analysis suggest the liquid was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to its source; investigators are presently not aware of any harm in connection with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to solve the case" and have requested to the community for information.

An important representative stated the vandalism made him without words and needed to be resolved rapidly.

"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on online, recalling the killing of nine victims by a gunman focusing on people of migrant background in February 2020.
